How do you choose a marketing partner for a digital asset company?

Judge four things: who will actually do the work, whether they can defend a position in front of an institutional reader, how conservative they are about claims made on your behalf, and whether the engagement is scoped around a decision you are facing rather than a list of deliverables. In this market the people writing the strategy and the people executing it should be the same people.

01

Seniority is the variable that matters

Positioning for a tokenisation platform, an exchange or a licensed asset manager is written for readers who discount marketing language automatically: allocators, partners, regulators, institutional press. That work cannot be delegated down a hierarchy. Ask who holds the account, what they have published, and whether they will be in the room after the pitch.

02

Claims are a liability, not a lever

A partner who overclaims on your behalf creates a problem you inherit — in a press release, a data room or a regulatory conversation. The test is how a prospective partner talks about their own work: whether figures are sourced, whether coverage is described as earned or promised, and whether they will say plainly what is confidential.

03

Distribution, not only message

A narrative that nobody relevant reads is a document. Ask where the work goes: which publications, which conferences, which ecosystems, which counterparties, and who in that network the partner can reach on your behalf. Being heard by the right twenty people is worth more than being seen by a million.

How BMB works

Blockchain Marketing Boutique has been founder-led since 2019. The roster is small, engagements are taken by selection, and the same people handle strategy and execution from start to finish. Work spans strategic positioning and go-to-market, communications and reputation, growth and distribution, digital asset and RWA marketing, search and visibility, and market intelligence and partnerships. Most engagements combine several of them, and run as strategic retainers or defined projects.
